We're seeking an innovative and organized People Experience Lead to join our global team. This role is crucial in bringing our People strategy to life, shaping the stories we tell about working at Freshfields, and driving engagement around our People initiatives and Value Proposition. You'll operate with significant autonomy, bringing a strategic and creative approach to content in a dynamic, global environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Engagement campaigns: Design and deliver compelling internal content and engagement campaigns for key People processes, new offerings, and strategic priorities. Partner closely with People Centers of Excellence (COEs), Marketing & Business Development (MBD), and regional teams for cohesive, consistent communication.
  • People storytelling & content strategy: In collaboration with People and Internal Communications leadership, define and implement a holistic internal content strategy that informs, engages, and inspires colleagues on People-related topics, showcasing the People team's value. Proactively identify and integrate Freshfields' People stories into various internal and external channels, coordinating with regional teams.
  • Content leadership & editorial excellence: Serve as the lead editor and content creator for priority People communications, ensuring clarity and alignment with the People brand and firm messages. Draft impactful communications across various formats (written, visual, video). Own and maintain the internal People content calendar, aligning with the global calendar and advising on optimal timing.
  • Data & analysis: Measure content success and engagement using data to continuously improve reach, comprehension, and impact.
  • People team enablement: Develop and deliver training, tools, and best practices to upskill People team colleagues globally, fostering communication excellence. Work with the Head of People Brand & Experience to develop an internal People team communications and engagement plan. Establish and lead a content and engagement working group with People COEs for alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Technology innovation: Leverage AI and other emerging technologies to streamline content development, editorial processes, and enhance the efficiency and creativity of People communications.

What you'll bring

  • Internal content strategy expertise: Experience in developing and executing internal communications and employee engagement strategies, ideally within a globally dispersed legal or professional services firm.
  • Creativity & digital savvy: A creative thinker passionate about innovation in People experience and engagement, willing to experiment with new approaches and technologies. Expertise in digital tools for content creation (including video) and the ability to analyze data to optimize performance.
  • Global & collaborative: Demonstrated ability to excel in a global, fast-paced setting, understanding cultural communication nuances. A highly collaborative approach, able to build strong relationships and lead through influence across multiple teams and geographies.
  • Autonomous drive & project management: The capacity to work independently, prioritize effectively, identify opportunities, and take initiative in an ambiguous environment. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication & influence: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex HR topics into clear, compelling narratives. A strong storyteller with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. A strong portfolio of internal communications content is a must.
