International Summer School “Human Rights in Theory and Practice”, Leipzig

Interested in human and fundamental rights protection? Don’t miss out on the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and understanding of human rights at the 3rd International Summer School – Human Rights in Theory and Practice, organized by Prof. Dr. Mattias Wendel, Professor for European law at Leipzig University. Our Summer School will be held online and in Leipzig under the motto: The Dynamic Evolution of Fundamental and Human Rights. Our programme includes exclusive participation in this year's Rule of Law Conference, organised by the Saxon State Ministry of Justice and for Democracy, Europe and Equality, which will feature renowned speakers such as Didier Reynders, Koen Lenaerts and Katarina Barley. 

Everybody is welcome! The Summer School is intended for advanced students of law, political science, international relations and similar fields. Prior knowledge about the European Human Rights System is beneficial but not mandatory.

After successfully taking part in the Summer School and passing a short test, in person participants will receive a participation certificate awarding 5 ECTS, while online participants will receive a participation certificate awarding 3 ECTS. 

The participation fee for in-person participants is 150 EUR, and for online participants 30 EUR. The (in person) participation fee includes the costs for the participation in the Summer School, the Opening Dinner on September 25^th, lunch and catering during the lectures of the Summer School as well as exclusive access to the Rule of Law Conference. The Summer School will be held in English.
